Hello! I'm Doug, the founder of Whitmanville Woodworking, nestled in the lush landscapes of Westminster, Massachusetts. My journey with wood began long before Whitmanville Woodwoorking came into existence, influenced by a lifetime surrounded by the forests that my father tended as a forester and the logs that my grandfather skillfully managed as a logger and mill owner. Woodworking has been my passion and hobby for over a decade, creating bespoke pieces for family and friends, infusing each creation with love and meticulous attention to detail.

 

In 2023, I decided to turn this passion into a profession, inspired by the timeless elegance of midcentury furniture design and the serene simplicity of Japanese style furniture. At Whitmanville Woodworking, I honor the legacy of my forebears by continuing in the family's footsteps, not just working with wood but understanding its essence and respecting the story of each piece of lumber.
